I guess if I just want to play old BDs and the media you suggest it'd work fine though. Got it as a package with the Oppo knowing it was busted, I replaced the transport (found one at GW) but still couldn't make it useful. Pretty sure my Samsung BDP does everything you want too as well as has component video out that is true 1080i but unfortunately I've never been able to get it to connect to a network to update the FW and when I looked it up it is a notoriously bitchy model.
